Biological energy optimization.

The thermodynamics of organic chemistry organizes the manipulative reward mechanism based on competition for energy to create a framework for the transfer of energy from the sun into life. This transfer mechanism is called “cellular respiration."

Biological mechanism: Survival of the fittest through one-to-one competitive transactions based on life energy called calories. These calories come from the sun.

I weigh meaning, reward, and safety against time, effort and risk. This is how I balance my perception of value against my perception of worth.

Business organizes the motivational reward mechanism and the pursuit of safety to create a framework for cooperating. This optimizes energy transfer because specialization is more efficient than generalization. The transfer mechanism is the “instinct to survive."

Biological mechanism:  Individual survival through one-to-many cooperative transactions (perception of value vs. perception of worth) based on the business energy called money.

Religion organizes the inspirational reward mechanism and the pursuit of meaning to create a framework for cooperating. Cooperating costs less than fighting. This optimizes energy transfer by conserving calories. The transfer mechanism is the feeling of "spirituality."

Biological mechanism: Herd survival occurs through many-to-many cooperative transactions based on spiritual energy called inspiration. A shared understanding of meaning and purpose reduces conflicts.
